However, it is important to note that the dry season is also the peak tourist season so prices will be higher and crowds will be larger.

Currency: The currency in Colombia is the Colombian peso (COP).

Weather and average temperature: The climate in Colombia varies depending on the region. The coastal regions have a tropical climate with average temperatures ranging from 25-30 degrees Celsius. The interior regions have a more temperate climate with average temperatures ranging from 15-25 degrees Celsius.

National Language: The official language of Colombia is Spanish. However, there are a number of other languages spoken in the country including English, French and German.

Top dishes to try: Arepas: Arepas are a type of cornbread that is typically served with cheese, meat and vegetables. Bandeja Paisa: Bandeja Paisa is a traditional Colombian dish that consists of rice, beans, meat, eggs and plantains. Lechona: Lechona is a dish of roasted pork that is typically served with rice, beans and vegetables. Ajiaco: Ajiaco is a soup made with chicken, potatoes and three types of corn. Tamales: Tamales are a type of steamed cornmeal dough that is typically filled with meat, cheese and vegetables.
